Alexandrite Laser Pigmentation Treatments:
The Alexandrite laser removes pigmentation by using focused light energy to target and disrupt melanin, the pigment responsible for darker skin areas. This process is called photo-thermolysis, heats the pigment, causing it to fragment and be naturally removed by the body's immune system.
Alexandrite lasers are known for their ablility to precisely target and destroy the lesion, leaving the surrounding tissue largely undamaged.
With the Alexandrite 755nm laser we are able to treat a variety of sun damage including: freckles, age spots, birth marks and lesions such as seborrheic keratosis.
HOW TO PREPARE FOR THE TREATMENT AND DOWN TIME:
Laser is a very safe noninvasive treatment, however there are a few precautions that should be taken prior to your appointment. Avoid sun tanning, tanning creams/sprays and discontinue use of retinol or any AHA / BHA's at least 5 days before the appointment.
With our advanced cooling technology the treatment is quick and painless. The spot will appear darker in the next few days as the pigment is surfacing. Down time is very minimal as you can resume regular activity after 24 hours and the spot will take about 5-10 days to fall off.
